Who Can Volunteer

Where possible, Reach Out and Read volunteers (over 18 y.o.) are based in the waiting room at outpatient primary care health centers, engaging children of all ages and their families with books and reading aloud.  Volunteers model book-sharing techniques and show by example that reading aloud is fun for parent/family and child.

How to Volunteer

Visit the national Reach Out and Read website here to find a Reach Out and Read health center in your area (enter your address and radius in two boxes) or click on FIND A PROGRAM below.  Also, look for the red heart symbol to contact a Reach Out and Read Site Coordinator directly.  Reach Out and Read sites (outpatient primary care health centers) that can have Reach Out and Read volunteers have their own application, interview, on-boarding, immunization, and orientation requirements for volunteering.  If you would like more information, please contact info@reachoutandreadphilly.org or 215-590-5989 and press 1.
